Summer Prayers

Greetings in ordinary time! See below for upcoming Taizé prayers around the state.

Summer is a popular time for young adults to pilgrimage to Taizé for retreat. Young people can spend the summer volunteering and welcoming the thousands of other young people who come and stay for a week of retreat. One of the special summer programs is a week of friendship between Muslims and Christians (see photo). You can read more about this summer’s Week of Friendship here.

You can tune into an audio livestream of prayer from the daily prayer at the Taize Community every day at 2:30pm at this link on their website. The Saturday evening prayer is also visually shared live on the Taizé YouTube channel. You can watch a replay at any time. It gives a beautiful feel of the prayer on the hill at Taizé. In this time of world divisions, it brings hope to join with others as one.

The fire of Christ’s forgiveness flames deep within you, dispelling your own confusion. He calls you by name.
That fire burns the very roots of bitterness. That fire never says “enough.”
